Do I need to be a QRA member to apply for grants?
Yes, membership sign-up is quick and simple and there a range of membership options to suit your individual status. Aside from access to grant schemes, QRA has number of other benefits, listed here.
What supporting information do I need in my grant/prize application?
The supporting information required for each grant/prize application is listed on the individual grant/prize pages (under ‘about the award’). The supporting information will need to be included in the online application.

I am not a QRA member. Can I still make a nomination for a QRA award?
Yes. Non-members should be able to access the awards nominations pages. If you are having difficulty with this then please contact awards@qra.org.uk for further support.
Meetings and events
How do I sign up for a meeting or event?
Upcoming meetings and events are listed on the QRA meetings page. Here you will find sign-up information. Sign-ups are dealt with by the host institution or meeting organiser. Links to external registrations are provided on individual event listings.
Can I still join a meeting or event even if I am not a member?
Yes. Non-member prices are displayed on the individual meeting/event listing.
Bookshop & deliveries
What are the accepted methods of payment for QRA guides and books?
We accept payment by the following means:
- Credit Cards and Debit cards: We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover and Diners Club cards.
- Bank transfers in GB Pounds Sterling to one of our bank accounts. All bank charges are the responsibility of the customer. Please contact us at admin@qra.org.uk if you wish to use this option.
How long will my order take to arrive?
We aim to process all orders within two days of receipt, although this may be longer during busy periods.
How is my order shipped?
We use Royal Mail for smaller packages and Parcelforce for parcels about 2kg in weight. Orders are sent by U.K. standard 2nd class service and are normally expected to arrive between 2-4 days after posting, although this may be longer during busy periods.
How much does postage and packing cost?
As of March 2023, postage and packing costs £3.50 for shipping of one item in the U.K., and a further £1 for each additional item included in your order.
Is it possible to have my item sent by tracked delivery and/or express delivery?
If you require your order to be tracked or sent by express delivery, please contact us before purchase at admin@qra.org.uk.
Can I order books to be delivered outside the U.K.?
We have had issues recently with the delivery of orders to Europe and North America, for a number of reasons. If you wish to order books to be delivered outside the U.K., please contact us at admin@qra.org.uk prior to placing an order, so that we can discuss possible arrangements for delivery.
My order hasn’t arrived in the estimated time, what should I do?
If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated time, please contact us at admin@qra.org.uk and we will make every effort to locate it for you. If goods are lost in transit, we will attempt to trace them and replace them if necessary.
