In this issue we fondly remember the career of John Hollin and the support to the QRA community from Mary Penny. We have an article exploring tephra in Greeland ice cores and three excellent reports on research funded by the QRF, involving Early Pleistocene cave sediments, palaeo-ice stream corridors in Scotland and the sedimentary architecture of kame sediments from the NW of England. The reports this issue cover field meetings held in Kent and also the Northern Pennines and meetings discussing speleothems, stable isotopes and the write-up of the Postgraduate Syposium. Annual Discussion Meeting hosted by Durham in January 2017, the report from the Pollen Centenary Symposium and other group of excellent reports from awardees of the New Researchers Award Scheme and the Quaternary Research Fund.
I hope that these autumnal days are treating everybody well.
