EXISTING MEMBERS: A PLEA TO CHECK YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RATES! HOW TO JOIN - see below on this link Firstly, we are very grateful to those of you who, over the past year, have checked and revised the rate at which you pay your QRA subscription: thanks, it's made a noticeable difference. However, over the past 18 months we have had to remove more than 120 names from the membership list due to (repeated) unpaid subscriptions. An additional significant number of members have also failed to increase their subscription payment, despite reminders, to reflect the current subscription rates. We don't want to loose you and we want you to be able to receive the full set of Quaternary Newsletters and Circulars for the year. So for those who haven't yet done so, please spend a few moments checking (either with your bank or be emailing Val Siviter at: val@bethesda.demon.co.uk) whether you are paying at the correct rate or not and revise as appropriate. Membership
(currently c.900) is open to all interested in the objectives of the
Association (see the Constitution). To join the QRA please print out and complete the membership application form (Word document or Adobe PDF) and return it together with the subscription to: Val Siviter (QRA Admin. Support) Email: val@bethesda.demon.co.uk thesda.demon.co.uk With few exceptions, annual subscription payment is due on the 1st January each year and the present rates are: Ordinary Members: £20 The preferred method of payment for UK members is by Standing Order as this is the most efficient way for the Association. A number of alternative methods are available for overseas members. It is also still possible to pay by cheque. Under the QRA Constitution membership payments are defined thus : The first Annual Subscription shall be paid on joining the Association, but if a member joins in November or December the subscription shall cover the whole of the following calendar year. With this exception, all Annual Subscriptions shall become due on the 1st January for the subsequent year. Members whose subscriptions are in arrears are not liable to receive publications and may be excluded from meetings if attendance is restricted for any reason. Members whose subscriptions are more than one year in arrears may be removed from the Association by the Executive Committee, provided that a final reminder has been sent by the Treasurer at the end of this year. PAYMENT METHODS Paying by Standing Order: Please note that we are currently unable to offer members the option to pay by Direct Debit. Therefore, any alteration in membership subscription rates (i.e. resulting from a change in membership category or an increase in subscription rates) requires a new Standing Order form to be completed. This should be sent to the Membership Secretary who will update the records and then forward the form to your bank: this allows the QRA to be aware of revised subscriptions in a timely manner and to ensure that members receive all literature to which they are entitled. Existing Standing Order Payers: Please fill out a Standing Order form and send it to the Membership Secretary. New Standing Order Payers: Please fill out a Standing Order form and send it to the Membership Secretary. Paying by Cheque: Please make cheques payable to' Quaternary Research Association' and send them to the Membership Secretary: Val Siviter (QRA Admin. Support) Email: val@bethesda.demon.co.uk Paying from Overseas: There are a number of alternative payment methods available to members based overseas and details of these can be found in the Helpsheet: methods of payment for overseas members. GIFT AID If you are a UK tax payer, by agreeing to participate in Gift Aid, you can help the QRA take advantage of a substantial financial benefit from the Inland Revenue. If you are willing to participate please complete a GIFT AID FORM and return it to the Membership Secretary. |
